Welcome to the Western Professional Truckers Association
Membership in the WPTA means that you’ll share a pivotal moment in Canadian trucking history, marking a new beginning for Canadian Professional Driver representation.
After decades without a platform from which to speak, we are proud to reintroduce the Western Professional Trucking Association. Pushing past the regional boundaries it was once constrained by, the new WPTA will provide a solid platform where Canadian Professional Drivers will not only be able to voice their concerns, but moreover, have those concerns heard.
We have appointed an interim board of directors which collectively boasts more than 500 years of direct experience in the transportation industry and an executive team which has what it takes to get the job done and the drive to make it happen.
This board currently is home to representatives from British Coumbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. The WPTA looks forward to representing other Canadian jurisdictions as qualified candidates step forward.

Underlying emphasis will always be - the betterment of our industry and those who serve in it.
Our new business model is “virtual” and exists entirely on-line. WPTA requires no office space to rent and is staffed by volunteers, this means there are no wages or salaries to pay. Ultimately, your membership dues go entirely towards representing the membership and funding association business. Building on thirty-two years of success, the WPTA has a vision for the future – your future. Safe roads and skilled professionals behind the wheel.
As the old saying goes, “there is strength in numbers.”
The key to our success lies in growing our membership base. As a valued member of the WPTA, we kindly ask for your support in promoting our organization to other industry professionals whenever possible. Together, we can create a strong and thriving community that benefits us all.
I hope you'll join us in our quest for Safe-Roads and Professionalism on Canadian highways.

It is the goal of the WPTA to fill the communication gap between government and those which give most every waking hour to our industry. To provide a voice which has been undeniably missing from our important conversations.
